Kelsey Stuart is a franchise consultant with FranChoice, based in Whitefish, Montana. He came to consulting after building a franchise brand of his own, which shapes how he reads a concept on behalf of a candidate.
He founded Bloomin' Blinds, starting as a small family service business and growing it into a national franchise system with locations across the country. Over roughly two decades as founder and chief executive he worked through every stage of that growth, from branding and operations to franchise development and the culture that holds a system together. He has since stepped back from day-to-day leadership and now runs Waypoint Franchise Advisors, the practice through which he advises people moving into ownership.
That background gives him an operator's view of what a franchise really demands. He treats the decision as a business choice and a life choice at once, because it reshapes a family's finances, time and freedom. His process puts education first: understanding a candidate's goals, capital, skills and appetite for risk before introducing any brand, then narrowing the field to concepts that match the person rather than only the budget. Candidates tend to describe him as direct but encouraging, a mentor who says the plain thing and keeps a long process calm.
He works with people who are ready to take control of their future without starting from scratch, and who want a straight answer about what ownership will ask of them. He lives in Whitefish with his wife, Jeni, and their two daughters; away from work he is usually fly fishing a nearby river or somewhere in Glacier National Park.
